Great Southern Land Adventure - Day 1

Our Adventure started as we drove out of Rocky at 9:10 am, in our new rig - Isuzu D-Max and camper trailer. Darryl's mum was still in Gladstone, so we called in before going to Elliott Heads to complete some repairs for our tenants. After some shopping and fuel the next stop was Cordalba to visit friends Anna & Otto.

Anna was keen to go to Childers to eat, but at Apple Tree Creek we passed Mollydooker's Canadian Restaurant, and the decision was made to try it out for dinner. It was lovely sitting outside, apart from being attacked by mozzies. Darryl had the chicken parmigiana, which he said was one of the nicest meals he has had in a long time. I had Poutine with pulled pork and no gravy, and Anna & Otto had the grilled chicken. The poutine was de-lic-ious!

We set up camp at the Apple Tree Creek picnic area, which we had stopped at several times in the past for lunch, or a break, and it looks lovely. It was REALLY noisy all night, much worse than I expected, (big trucks roaring past all night long), so I didn't sleep too well, but Darryl slept ok, (which was more important).
