Hawaii - Waikiki

We thought we would go to Manoa Falls, and the drive up was quite scenic, but unfortunately it was closed. So, instead went to Diamond Head Crater for the walk up to the crater rim.

It was a bit crowded at the top

It was a long walk up...

But, the great views from the top were worth it.

Views to Honolulu

Lunch was enjoyed in a shady little park at the bottom. The idea of a swim at the beach sounded appealing, and, due to me be concerned about paying for parking, we parked a fair way away and walked across a huge park to get there. The bonus from the long walk was some shots of local birds.

Marc and I went into the water. The bottom was very rocky except close to the jetty. Darryl chatted with a local lady while he waited for us. Then we decided to try the walk that had been closed on Tuesday, so drove there, and turned in but discovered it was going to cost $1 to park and $7.50 each for us to get in, and as it was so late in the afternoon it wasn't worth it, so we turned around, drove back to Waikiki. Dinner was a packet meal with shredded chicken, BBQ Pork and stir-fried veges.
