Goodedulla National Park - 3 Sep

Set out going through Glenroy Crossing. Stopped for a look around. Just after coming up out of the river, Al got a flat tyre. Got it all changed ok, and continued on.

These gorgeous flies were on the cattle dung pad

No that's not me changing a tyre...just checking the pressure (Courtesy of Dell)

Went through some private property to the top end of Goodedulla.

I guarantee there is a road here...(Courtesy of Dell)

Had a look at Palms Waterhole, which has a nice flat camping area but currently not much water.

Went through another creek, then Al stopped and it turned out he had another flat tyre! Luckily where we were was one of the best spots to set up camp if we had to be stopped anywhere but our campsite. The wheels were removed and put into our car. We set up camp, had afternoon tea then dinner.

In fact it was quite fortuitous that we were stopped where we were, as at the nearby creek crossing there was a Callistemon in full bloom and it had lots of pairs of Scarlet Honeyeaters, which were little birds that none of us had ever seen before.

It rained short but heavy during the night, so luckily we had covered Dell's table with the tarp.

  1. The rust inside the older split rims puncture tubes at the worst possible time and usually damage the tire as well.
