Canada Hols - Calgary

On Tuesday morning we boarded our flight to Calgary, arriving just before lunch-time. It took a while for us to familiarise ourselves with our hire vehicle, a Nissan X-Terra. We managed to make it out of the airport, driving on the 'wrong' side of the road, and to a shopping centre without incident. After picking up supplies we booked into the Olympia Lodge Hotel. Calgary was at the end of a severe flooding event, with many homes without power, and downtown still evacuated. Roads are cut west and south, and it seems unlikely we can go to Banff in the morning. We went for a walk along the Bow River and saw some of the effects of the flood, and watched geese and goslings.
