Singapore 20 Oct

The Sultan Mosque just around the corner from our Hotel

We passed this mosque while heading for our Hotel the previous evening.

Street view of our Hotel (the one with the big H on it!)

After finding a yogurt at a 7-Eleven, (for my morning yogurt), we walked to Gardens by the Bay.

This intriguing building seems to be 1-dimensional

The optical illusion building end-on

Plenty of new work going on in the City

I'm at the 'Fountain of Wealth' I hope it works!

The ship on piers is 'Marina Bay Sands' a hotel and shopping centre

The Helix Bridge (pedestrian), Marina Bay Sands, and ArtScience Museum (looks like a white flower)

ArtScience Museum and city towerblocks, and sports stadium seating on the right

We were really excited to see Smooth-coated Otters playing in the river.

Gardens by the Bay is free to enjoy

Marina Bay Sands and sculpture

The Singapore Flyer

A tiny water dragon

The dragon flaring his beard (maybe an Orange-bearded flying lizard?)

Little Dove similar to what we have at home

Gorgeous Green Pigeon

Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay

The Active Gardens include musical instruments!

The following video is of flowers.

Brilliant sculptures everywhere.

A storm started so we too refuge in the Cloud Forest garden.

An Avatar exhibition was opening later, so we only caught glimpses while going down stairs

These beauties were in a huge aquarium

We headed for a satay place for a late lunch. A huge goanna came quite close, obviously he got fed regularly.

I had ribs

Spring rolls for Darryl

After lunch we walked through the wetlands, and saw some more water dragons.
We were relaxing under the Supertrees, waiting for dark when a Guide came up and gave us free tickets to go on the high walkway. Some of her patrons had refused to go.

It's a loooong way to the ground!

Some of the gardens on the trunks of the SuperTrees

That's the walkway at dusk

They look great lit up at night too.

The Supertrees light show started at 8pm.

After the light show we walked home racking up 9000 steps for the day.
