Max made me a parting gift |
7:20am a van arrived to pick us up to transfer to Krabi Airport to fly to Bangkok. Unfortunately, it was the WRONG van! I had even clarified with him when he arrived, but it must have been the van for someone else. At some point during the trip there was a lot of phone calls, and eventually he pulled over somewhere and told us to get out. Our 'perhaps' correct van was way dingier but at least we were actually heading in the correct direction. It was a long trip, and I really needed to go to the loo. I spoke to the driver, and he found a place, (which seemed to be accommodation of someone he knew), and a few of us went to the toilet in the un-used unit.
The ferry to the mainland. |
Eventually, we arrived in Bangkok. The accomodation I had booked looked like it was quite near the airport, and it looked walkable. What I didn't count on was the motorway, with a railway on top dividing us from it. I realised that it would be prudent to take a taxi, even for that short distance, and even that was difficult, as the price quoted at the airport was not what the full amount charged. Not Happy Jan!
The room was fine though and out the back of the complex was a door to a night market, where we ate. With the wide variety of cheap meals available at night markets, we enjoy eating out.

I can't remember what this was, but those white 'balls' look a bit dubious |
