Hawai'i - East and North

The Boiling Pots on the Wailuku River

Liliʻuokalani Park and Japanese Gardens were a picturesque spot to have our lunch.

An accident along the way

We took the scenic route to Onomea Bay, and found a pretty walking trail.

Further north we stopped at the Waipio Valley Lookout and did the long walk down to the Valley (not suitable for normal vehicles), and what seemed the even longer walk back up! The Valley floor is 610m below the surrounding terrain, and the road has an average 25% grade (steeper in parts).

The waterfall at the end of the valley

The road back up

I was 'stuffed'! Marc stayed close to keep me company...and motivate me onwards

Our little car

Waimea (the town where we were staying)

While we were here, Steve, Heather and Justin were doing some of the sights that we had seen on Honolulu.
