We had an early start for no reason than we were awake.
Koki Beach
We stopped at one waterfall then at Koki Beach, a Red Sand beach, for coffee. A local was fishing from the back of his truck. The next part of our journey was along a very winding narrow road with what seemed like 50 Give-way signs.
In some places there were even rockfalls across the road, but also more Waterfalls.
We arrived at Waianapanapa beach, which had a small Black Sand Beach, Blowholes, a Sea Arch, and even a Cemetery. Most surprising was Pirate Pete, who gave us a tour of his secret cave!
Darryl was even lucky enough to see a whale leap half out of the water.
After another really rough road we arrived La Parouse Bay. There were Yellow fish in the rocks right at shoreline, and we had light rain for Happy hour.
Before it got too dark, we decided to walk along this trail.
These definitely look like some sort of construction/shelter
Settled in to sleep before being woken by a cop before 9pm and told to move on. Drove back along the road about 3km and found a spot between other campers.

ReplyDeleteThey have little tolerance for homeless people and we were one of several campers forced to move on that night.
