We ventured downstairs to the buffet breakfast, which was included and very tasty. After packing we went to check out, hoping to get the free Hilton shuttle to the city. That wasn't happening as it was Sunday, so we got a taxi. Darryl was extremely impressed with the driving of the taxi driver. Given the narrow streets he drove assertively, but very safely.
We found our accommodation, (it was too early to check in), and went to the little square nearby... it was shady and some local men were singing traditional songs, which was really interesting. Finally we got to the room, to leave our bags.

It is very hard to be in Athens without seeing it (the Acropolis) |

There is archaeology tucked in everywhere |

I know it's technically graffiti on this train, but I think it actually looked pretty good |
|
and there's archaeology right beside the train tracks |

Church of Theotokos Gorgeopikoos and Ayios Eleytherios |
We wandered around the markets and saw more ruins, and actually had a really nice day.
I had a slight sore throat, and Darryl felt as though he had a slight temp and was a little sick. We suspected we may have been reinfected with a different Covid strain by the coughing woman on the bus from Zakynthos.
At the laundromat that night we had a nice chat with a couple of Americans who were cousins of each other. The main topic of conversation was politics in USA.

Our new AirBnB...way better than the Hilton, and close to everything near the centre of the city. |
