Cape York Trip - Day 26

We were woken early by roosters just behind us, but luckily Darryl got a pretty good sleep. The  camper was left at the pub behind a locked gate. The first 20-odd kms had bitumen before the red corrugations and dust began.

I bet you can work out which way the wind blows
Moorehead River rest area was our stop for morning tea, where we spotted a Greater Bowerbird, checking out the blue things. The Bend on Coen River was a very nice spot for lunch. We camped at the Wenlock River Crossing, just before the old Telegraph Station.

Blue-winged Kookaburra

It was lovely spot with lots of birds and frogs. Features of the days drive had been lots of dead cars, tyres and car parts along the road, as well as tall termite mounds, flattened guideposts, Wallabies, dead pigs & a cow.
