It wasn’t far to the Jardine River Ferry which cost $120 for both ways and to cover some camping.

At Injinoo we got fuel then went to the boat ramp area for morning tea. At Bamaga we got groceries before going to “The Tip”.
You get to 'The Tip' and there is an island!
We made it!

We had a beautiful view sitting under the coconut trees for lunch. Further to the east was Somerset with the Jardine & other’s graves. Frank Jardine had it put around that he was to be buried vertically so he could 'watch' the locals, and they still fear going there.

To be honest we were very disappointed, it was $20 to camp the night, looked like the toilet was out of action, and it was packed with people with dogs and generators. The graves were really interesting and Darryl found the well and windmill, then followed the pipeline up the hill and found the old homestead with the cannons, more graves, and stumps etc.

He drove me around there, then we had a look at Fly Point before booking in at Punsand Bay Campground, where we were lucky enough to score a beachfront site. This was only just less than twice the price of stopping at Somerset, but we had clean toilets and hot showers. Happy hour was sitting on the beach, watching fishermen catching nothing, and a shark cruising around a few times. I was surprised that getting here we had traversed a few small Rainforest sections.
