Western Queensland National Parks - 24 Apr

We were greeted by a lovely sunrise over the water, and the peaceful, regal pelicans sailing by.

The flies didn't miss us, so we all dug out our fly-nets once the sun came up. A trip to town was decided on, and we took the 'scenic' route along the Botanic Drive to Windorah.

Plenty of art and history greets the tourists.

The Windorah tourist information centre was busy preparing for ANZAC day in the morning. We used the free internet, before finding a Fly-proof shelter in the park beside to eat our lunch in relative peace.

At the Tourist information we discovered that only 12km out of town to the north you could see the Red sand dunes, so of course we went to have a look.

Back in town we fueled up & picked up a few items from the shop.

Back at Cooper Creek we decided to look at the area around the bridge, and found magnificent Spoonbills, and more Pelicans. The bank here was no-where near as steep as beside our camp, and Al decided on a swim.

At the camp Darryl and Al threw in a line, but unfortunately didn't catch anything for our dinner.
