Morning saw really quiet cattle standing on the bank above our camp, (on the road), just chewing their cud.
We decided we were going to stay another day, so I made the booking. On the walk to the Blencoe Falls lookout, I saw a bush wren on the path.

I'm always a sucker for lichens, and these looked pretty on the crystals of stone |

Stopping for a sip of water under a shady tree on that hot long climb out of the creek |
Darryl went early, then came back and did it a second time with the rest of us. Just over the creek we passed a big white and black Zebu bull sitting quietly in an empty campsite.
We enjoyed the beautiful view of Blencoe Falls, and the Herbert River Gorge, then returned to camp for lunch and a swim.

A 'special' place for us, as it brings back memories of our trip in 1979 |

The beautiful Blencoe Falls |

I had never seen Blencoe Falls before, even though I'd been quite near to it |
The red bull was lying chewing its cud just beside our campsite, but the cows had gone.

Red Bull and Al both enjoying their lunch |
Then the zebu came over and both bulls started pawing the ground, and snorting etc and we were right in the middle of it!
|
He really was quiet, as long as Red Bull wasn't anywhere close by |
Eventually I managed to divert them, and they went off up the road. A Goanna took a stroll down the road, and I got a really good Butterfly photo.

This is the vine on the Casuarina, which has the phosphorescent 'something' |
Darryl was wondering how Blencoe Creek had Black Brim in it, as the falls are pretty high. The fall is 90m to the first pool, then cascades down 230m to the base of the gorge.

And topped off the day with a tasty damper |
