Hawk nesting near caravan park |
Morning Coffee was by the waterfront. It was still pretty windy. There were 100s of Corellas on waterfront causing damage.
We walked the 2.4km up to the Barramundi Centre.
Dell & Al went on the paid tour while we watched the birds circling. After the tour they did a feeding of the fish, and the birds. The water was murky but we could see the barra coming. The kites also understood it was feeding time by the announcement over the loudspeaker.
We had Barra there for lunch (of course), then the men went back. Dell & I spent more time looking before walking back via the butcher, shop and a gift store. Had happy hour by the water (and saw the croc out on the mud spit until a passing boat spooked him).
More palms suffering from the locusts |
The wind wasn't so bad but came up at 10pm. We had a quieter night.
Despite Karumba being close to where I grew up and on my bucket list, this is my first visit.
