Sadly, it is a rainy day for the Moonta Fair and street parade, but it didn't seem to dampen the spirit of participants or the crowd.

The local schoolchildren were right into it |
 |
People dressed up for the event |
 |
And the band played... |
 |
It's all about mining |
 |
And beautiful Clydesdales |
 |
We all sheltered under shopfronts |
I saw a man in shorts and thongs, and said 'You must be a Queenslander!' Not only was he a Queenslander, but Kevin and his wife, Linda, were from Westwood, just west of Rocky!
We checked out the markets, then went through to the Fair at the Oval.
Sadly, it rained and the kids waiting out on the field to do Maypole dancing were freezing as they waited through the dignitaries doing their blah (we couldn't even hear them anyway). Someone should have made the call to change the order and put the kids on first.
Ben turned up and he and Darryl and Ben had pasties....then Darryl had a sausage roll, while I had chips with tomato sauce and cheese (about the only GF option). We were enjoying the SA Police band, but eventually the rain forced us home. We were going to wash our clothes, but bar things were in the machine, so Darryl had a nap while I went to the tourist info for wifi. The Tourist Info gardens had lovely flowers.
After I came home we were able to wash the clothes.
