South Australia 4 May 2023

 We woke to 6.2C.

Around morning tea we stopped at Condamine. The river here often floods.

In Memory of those who lost their lives in the Condamine River during floods. Also those who risked their lives to row the Condamine Boat for communication purposes and return with supplies.

One of the lifeboats

History of the Condamine - floods in 1863, 1873, 1922, 1927, 1942, 1950 and 2011

Another lifeboat

Memorial to those lost in the 1927 flood

An emu almost bouncing along the road in front of us

Leaving Queensland and crossing into New South Wales

We camped the night at Angeldool Weir. There were all the things you couldn't do.

The muddy waters of Angeldool Weir

And a really interesting blaze on the nearby tree

Followed by a lovely sunset
