Kimberleys Trip 4 June 2019

We took off about 9am towards Ivanhoe Crossing, (across Parry Creek).

I videoed another car coming across and she did ours. We saw some Red-tailed black cockatoos on the way to Middle Springs.

It had no running water but a stagnant pool, so we didn't go to Black Rock Falls as it was apparently dry. Lots of Boab trees towered over the other trees.

We passed rolling hills and some some escarpment. The cattle looked to be in good condition and there were corellas, galahs in a boab tree, and wallabies which had died crossing the road. While stopping at the Boatramp on Lower Ord River for lunch we saw Rainbow Bee-eaters, wallabies and a pair of brolgas.

East of Wyndham is the wetlands, and first you are up high on the lookout and old Telegraph Station overlooking it all.

We had a lovely hour photographing birds including ducks, a darter, a Jabiru, etc and also small fish and archer fish until other people turned up and disturbed the peace.

Just before Wyndham we pulled into a Salt Lake and camped the night at the edge of it, and enjoyed a delightful sunset.
